Tales of Romance
What's the
most romantic thing that's ever happened to you?
Email your story to: romanticcouples@yahoo.com Here's some of the most romantic stories we've heard so far... My partner once cooked me
a three course meal and bought a beautiful expensive wine to go with it.
We sat at a candlelit table and just held hands, staring into each
other's eyes. It was simple, but very memorable. I'd been having a hard week at work, so I came home tired and irritable on a Friday night ready to veg out in front of the TV. Instead I was met at the door by my husband, Tom,, who was smiling mischievously. He blindfolded me, and told me to take his hand. He led me inside and sat me down on a chair, pushing a glass of bubbling champagne into my hand. Taking a sip, I soon heard soothing music coming from the stereo. I felt Tom removing my shoes, and gently massaging my feet, which felt glorious. I couldn't help smiling. Next he started to rub my shoulders, teasing out the knots of tension which had gathered there. I sipped more of the bubbly in satisfaction. I was almost annoyed when he stopped and disappeared for a few moments. The blindfold was still on, and he didn't answer me when I asked what was going on. Then the music changed - it became "You can leave your hat on" by Joe Cocker. He told me to remove the blindfold - and I got the shock of my life. Before me in the candlelit living room, my husband started doing a striptease, just like in the Full Monty. It wasn't perfect - he didn't have those velcro pants which seem to help strippers so much - but it was still pretty good. I couldn't get the grin off his face as he whirled his shirt around his head and wiggled his crotch in front of me. At the end of the song, he kneeled before me, naked, and said "I love you!" It's definitely the most
romantic thing he's ever done. On our 10th wedding
anniversary, my husband took me out to dinner at a very expensive
restaurant. We had a lovely time, the food was excellent, and the wine
better. After desert, he put a little velvet box on the table. Inside
was a lovely gold ring that matched my wedding and engagement rings. I
went all gooey, but he hadn't finished. Next he got out a piece of paper
and read a list of 10 things he loves about me. One of them was
"You are yourself". I cried, but I loved it. On my 40th Birthday, we
had a huge party with lots of friends and relatives. When it came time
for speeches, my husband got up and recited a sonnet by Shakespeare -
"Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?". I was overwhelmed,
and slightly flabbergasted. You see, my husband's a plumber, and usually
doesn't say much. So it was very special.
